Debra Bounous
Debra Bounous has been a professor of voice at Brigham Young University since 1996, leveraging her extensive expertise in vocal performance and pedagogy. She obtained her degree in vocal performance and pedagogy from BYU before furthering her studies in Paris under Chantal Carduzzo at the Conservatoire de Musique. Beyond her campus duties, Debra is a respected voice instructor and co-founder of VoiceWorks with her husband Barry, where she offers private voice lessons. Debra Bounous is celebrated as a versatile soloist with a notable presence in operas, musical theater productions, and oratorios such as Handel’s Messiah. Her dedication extends to nurturing her students across all genres, guiding them towards becoming confident and accomplished solo performers.
