BYU SYNCOPATION

Brigham Young University Syncopation, formerly known as BYU Jazz Voices, is BYU’s premier vocal jazz ensemble. Syncopation covers all sub-genres of modern and traditional jazz including blues, swing, bebop, Latin, funk, pop, fusion, and more. The group performs alongside a live rhythm section and has performed with world-renowned jazz artists like Rosana Eckert and Corey Christiansen. These student vocalists expertly keep the authenticity and traditions of jazz alive while still providing an exciting and fresh experience for listeners. This vocal jazz group has been a staple of BYU’s music school for over 30 years and continues to dazzle audiences with their ability to perform pieces that span across more than 100 years of jazz repertoire.
