UTAH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The Utah Symphony is Utah’s premier orchestra based in Salt Lake City. The orchestra was founded in 1940 and features more than 17 full sections of different instruments. Directed by Thierry Fischer, the orchestra’s main venue and home is Abravanel Hall, named for former director Maurice Abravanel. The symphony is a touring orchestra and is well-known in the American music scene and is globally recognized for its excellent performances and recordings. The Utah Symphony Orchestra produces a beautiful, full-bodied sound every time they play and have delighted audiences since the orchestra’s formation. With a repertoire that spans the works of many major composers, the Utah Symphony has something for everyone.
